Mansion House Wedding, London / Antonia + Alisdair
Mansion House at Bank, London is the home and office of the Lord Mayor of London, so it is not often that this prestigious building, built in 1758 is actually used for weddings. In fact this was the second ever wedding held there since it was built. So there are no other images of this beautiful government building to be found anywhere in the wedding capacity.
Alisdair is the godson to the current Lord Mayor of London, so the wedding was a very selective, exclusive event. The use of the building itself is usually used for very high profile events housing Heads of government and other prominent figures.
Upon meeting Alisdair and Antonia it was clear that they wanted a very classy wedding with an air of class but with a more modern and less formal atmosphere. Mansion House and all of the people behind the scenes did a fantastic job of keeping things high profile whilst facilitating their fun vision.
Alisdair and Antonia, after seeing my work realised that my style and approach would be a perfect fit for their lovely wedding. We started things off with a pre-wedding shoot a few days before the wedding. We shot around London, visiting some of the key spots from where they met and where they like to go. It was a lovely insight into the legacy of this nice and down to earth London couple.
On the wedding day we started things off at the Ned, at Bank, London which is a 5* London hotel. The hotel fit perfectly with the classic theme of the wedding and was a pleasure to be in with such fantastically attentive room and hotel service.
Once we were ready, we had a short trip to the Saint Dunstan, All Saints which was a beautiful church, with nice high ceilings and gold apparels. Outside was a beautiful line of trees which seemed perfect for the confetti shot before moving on to some couple photos around Bank station near the Mansion House.
Wow, just wow, the Egyptian Hall at Mansion House was a sight to be seen, it was a perfect place for the reception and speeches as many a great talks will have happened here over the centuries.
As they danced into the night it was pretty clear that we had a fabulous selection of guests who, not only were classy, but also knew how to have a good time. It was a great day to be part of and a wedding that where I connected with so many people.
Thank you Antonia and Alisdair for a wonderful day!
