WHO?
We have shot over 500+ weddings all over the country over the last 11 years with next to no Instagram. How are people booking us?
Our Style: Authentic,
Editorial, Epic.
There are countless photographers out there and they all look good so its a great time for brides with there being so much choice, but how DO you choose?
Style is important to us as we want you to love your images forever. Look below at the editing trends over the years.
These styles are edited using the most downloaded presets in the world, Looking from left to right:
The Light and Airy style popularised from 2013 is beautiful and stunning and well suited to couples looking for that magazine look. A Light and Airy style is predominantly shot backlit, as front-lit shots tend to have a mixed colour cast as seen below where the faces go orange. Shooting this way means shots are set up specific to the lighting rather than reacting to the action unfolding, which is why most light and airy shooters don’t shoot for candids and sunsets are a no go. This style is predominantly shot on a long lens which suits a photographer who prefers to be in the background.
+Beautiful Light
+Magazine quality
-candids aren’t a strong point
-faces can go unnaturally orange
The Dark and Moody style popularised from 2018 is cinematic with a greater focus on shadows and it is well suited for couples looking for a moody more film like look. A Dark and Moody style is predominantly about managing highlights in all shooting scenarios, however backlit subjects become very grey and poorly lit areas create a very muddy orange and unnatural skin tone. When shooting dark and moody flash is a no go, which means many shots indoors are pretty unusable and many moments are omitted from the collection.
+Filmlike and moody
+Cinematic compositions can look brilliant
-many shots are orange and have to be discarded
-faces can go unnaturally grey
The Editorial Pop style popularised from 2023 well rounded for light due to the demand for editorial ‘in the moment’ shots as seen in modern magazines. An Editorial Pop style is predominantly shot vertically with a high shot rate and punchy style. When the flash goes off these shots look like paparazzi shots, when it doesn’t however shots look very digital and a little too saturated for my taste with nuclear greens and red faces. Style wise, its super fun but any cinematic compositions are a no go. This style is very energetic and requires a lot of flash to work properly which may feel intrusive all day to some couples.
+Fun and in the moment
+Editorials scream celebrity
-cinematic compositions are gone
-red faces and cartoon like backdrops
Our Timeless style popularised by over 500 couples over the last 11 years. We don’t use presets, we hand edit because as you can see below, a beach setting is very different to a direct sun setting and so on. We edit for skin tones so that your images not only look great but it means there are no restrictions on where we can shoot and how we can shoot. We actually deliver a full set of colour and a full set of black and white images, that’s how confident we are in our work! Our editorial shots are just a few on the side during couple shots and won’t dominate the day. We offer a good mix of cinematic, airy, moody, editorial as seen below.
+Cinematic with lovely skin tones
+Candids and sunsets
+Timelessly natural
-Timeless isn’t for everyone

Our Approach, relaxed, fun, one of the family
Styles can dictate an approach and its why certain styles resonate with certain photographers. Light and airy photographers tend to be relaxed, appropriate, very particular about what they want to shoot and very in the background. Dark and moody photographers tend to be hipster cool, relaxed, fairly particular about what they want to shoot and in the middle of it all. Editorial photographers tend to be all go, super energy, very particular about what they want to shoot. For us though, we are editorial in style but in approach, we are more like the hipster, relaxed and in the middle of it all. For us people are important and moments are important, the cool stuff should be reserved for the couple shot time and not taking over the guests nor ignoring the guests. I prefer to be one of the guests!

“Honestly can’t recommend Paul enough. Paul is so friendly and throughout the day he asked us what preferences we had with regards to shots and timings, there was no pressure, stress or instructions from him. He was adaptable and really friendly throughout. It honestly felt like having another friend at the wedding, not just a photographer.
Already impressed with his prior work we have seen some of the sneak peak shots he captured on the day and they’re even better than we expected. Honestly so impressed! Don’t contemplate your choice any further, Paul is the Perfect guy for your wedding photography!!!”
“Paul was amazing throughout our whole wedding day and captured the story of our day perfectly! We are absolutely in love with our photos!
Paul made sure he got to know us before the big day and during the day, making sure to capture our personalities. Me and my husband aren’t ones to pose and Paul’s style suited this perfectly, he kept us comfortable during photos and got beautifully natural photos.
Paul was amazingly accommodating and even managed to capture our dogs cheeky personality in the photos which we love.
We are so glad we chose Paul to be our wedding photographer and cannot recommend him enough for your big day!”
“Paul captured our day absolutely perfectly. He fitted into the day like an old friend and made you feel at ease from the beginning. He has a relaxed, chilled out approach yet captures everything perfectly. Nothing is too much trouble for Paul either - if you want photos on the beach or one of the girls he’s there! Paul made sure we have some amazing photos which will make the perfect memories, without losing too much time on the day - making sure the priority was about spending time with loved ones and having fun!”

Oh ok, we are here now thank you for your patience. It’s important to me that you know my work. After all we are going to be hanging out all day. As you can hopefully tell by my work i’m mostly natural. I am not imposing but I will have some banter with guests and yourselves so that your story is told and no body feels awkward that there is a photographer around. I think that is easily the biggest skill in find in your photographer and the hardest one to judge when you are booking someone.
I have only one camera so I don’t look like a photographer, no logo, no harness, no 3 cameras dangling off my body with flashes and so forth. To me I see this at a wedding and I see guests cringe and backup. 99% of photographers look like a photographer. This works well when you want people to know you are coming at them but my approach is be one of the guests, that way you capture personality. Every couple is guaranteed great work, great company and a great day.
You are in safe hands too. I have shot all over the country some abroad in my earlier days before family came along and I have shot weddings with a few celebs along the way too. I average around 50 weddings a year so most of my weekends are gone!
I’ll be honest with you, my mix of bants and personal editorial work has been tried and tested on 11 years of weddings. As you can see by above, my work is hand edited and carefully crafted around your story. I dedicate so much time on mastering the whole set rather than just the top 10 for socials. Its a big difference in what you receive.

If you have scrolled straight to this bit without looking at the work, you are 2 seconds away from closing this page and going back to either the unknown or rushing into an impulse booking with another vendor who probably wont offer what we offer.
If you are going to leave and have a look at another supplier, make sure you copy and paste these key questions:
Can I see a full wedding?
Do you photograph weddings outside of the North East?
Can you work without a camera harness?
Can you shoot video?
